In 2014 the UK broadcasting industry set a deadline to end tape based delivery in favour of digitally delivered assets with all the quality checks being met beforehand. Despite the announcement no such digital platform existed so the Re:fine Group commisioned Datadial to build a web based App that would automate the entire process.
The App was called re:io. A straighforward, web based, pay as you go file delivery system which allowed users to see where each file was in every part of the process – and flagged any issues like poor audio, incorrect subtitling, incorrect length, in appropriate use of flash, poor picture quality etc.
